8 Tips On How To Maintain Your BloG!

1. Animation Overload: Using animations excessively on web sites would put your visitors off. Beware of blinking text and images. Only use animations where it would add a value to your content.

2. Color combinations: Don't just use the colors because they are your favourites. Choose right color combinations for your text and background. For instance blue over red background makes it difficult to read. Go for the colors that are easy on the eyes. Choose web safe colors.

3. Lack of Maintenance: Make sure all your links are working properly. Also, make sure your site loads correctly. Here is a free tool to check dead links on your site.

4. Built for one Browser: You have to keep this in mind that there are other browsers as well as Internet Explorer and they are also used wisely. Your site may not render as the same way it appears in your own browser. So make sure to test your site on different browsers and different machines.

5. Using Tables Excessively: Tables may not render same way in the old browsers. And some browser may not support tables. So try using table wisely.

6. Using Images as Bacground: When you using images as your background, make sure it doesn't distarct your visitors to read your content.

7. Pop-up, Pop-unders: Don't give your visitors something they don't expect. In most cases, users will press the back button or close button of the browser as the pop-up and pop-unders appear. Try to avoid using them.

8. Excessive Advertisement: Always label your advertisements as sponsored links, advertisement, or anything similar. Don't expect your visitors to find your main content between advertisement. Because they won't. Dedicate a space in your site for advertisement and label it clearly."

In this post, I will tell you how to place 3 things which are StumbleUpon, DiggIt and del.icio.us button to all your posts easily. The steps discuss here is only useful for new blogger.

As usual, before we edit anything in our blog, we need to login to our Blogger account. Then, go to the "Template" tab and go to "Edit HTML". Remember to click the "Expand Widget Template".

Now, you need to find the line in the HTML code as below:

The number "3" above is different numbering for different blogs. So, when you see the code "post-footer-line...", paste the codes as stated below.

Then, add the code below. Copy and paste the code below.

In this post, I will explain something about Blogger.com' Special Feature. This features can help you make your posts more effective and more efficient for your readers. The feature I would I like to talk about is "Post Template".

Post Template can be found in your Blogger Account.

Login to your Blogger Account.
Click "Layout"(For New Blogger) or "Template"(Blogger Classic).

Click "Settings".
Click on "Publishing" in "Setting" tab as shown on the picture above.
Scroll down to the lower page of "Publishing".

You will see something like the picture above, the "Post Template".
You can type anything into the box of "Post Template".

For Example: Links of another relevant or related posts. Affiliate links, links to another blog/site, pictures, sentences and so on.

After you have completed filling in the box of "Post Template", go to "Posting" to create a new post. You will notice that anything you type into the box of "Post Template" will appear in your new post.

*This feature is good to create a lot of Inbound Links and you do not need to waste time to repeatedly type relevant links in every posts.

Expendable Post For Blogger.

What is an Expendable Post?
Well have you ever seen any half post with a " Read More " link in the bottom? that is called an expendable post.

If you would like to create an expendable post, this post can guide you, below are step by step Instructions on how to make an expendable post:

Step by Step Instructions:

STEP 1 :-

Login to your Blogger's Account. Click on "Layout" on your blog. click "Edit Html".
In the Html Box, Find :
Copy the Code below:
Paste the Code between: and
Save Template.

STEP 2 :-

Expand the code.
Now, Locate this code:

Paste the code below:
Follow the code correctly, if not the "Read more!" function will not function correctly.
Save Template.

STEP 3 :-

This is the Last Step.
Go to Settings------>Formatting. Scroll down to the end of the page to the box for the Post Template. Copy and Paste the following lines there :

Done! Your posts will now have "Read more!" function and this is good to make all your posts have their links in your blog. This is helping you to create a lot of inbound links in your blog.

Adding Elements To Blog Header.

Normally in Blogger, we can only see out template like the picture below:

This post will teach you how to make the "Add a page Element" appear at the Header. After you apply the steps in this post, then you can add something into your header easily.

Your Header will look like the picture above after making some changes to your blog's HTML.

Step By Step Guide:

Login to your Blogger Account.
Click on "Layout" at the blog on which you want to make changes.
Then, click on "Edit HTML".
Now, here is a serious part. Try to find the code in the picture below:

You can surely find it.
Make changes to it. Change the maxwidget='1' to maxwidget='5' and change showaddelement='no' to showaddelement='yes'.

Finally, the code will look like pictures below:

After you have completed all this steps, "Save Template".
Go to your "Page Element" tab. You will find that you can "Add a page element" to your header.
This is useful especially if you want to place AdSense for Contents (Link Units) there.

I saw a question regarding "Pasting the AdSense Code" in the AdSense Help Group. So, I decided to write a post about Customizing the Blogger Design and use the Widget Layout effectively to paste and place the AdSense Ads easily on blogs.

Step-by-step Guides:
1. Login to your AdSense Account, Generate and Copy the AdSense Code.
2. Login to your Blogger.com Account.
3. Then, go to the blog you want to customize the design.
4. Click "Template", the "Customize Design".

Generating contents to your blog is the most simple task of blogging. This task is simple and you must do it everyday. Some people think that creating new contents to their blog is very troublesome and some of them don't update their blog at all.

The truth I can tell you is that, creating new contents to your blog is the most important task of blogging. Your blog will not be popular if you only have 1 or 2 posts. People will not come back to read your blog and they will leave if they don't find your blog informative.

So, creating new contents is important. You can give your readers new information and they will constantly come back and read your blog.

Search engines like new contents. The bot of search engines will index your blog and of course, it will index your new posts. Your new posts will be added into RSS and your posts will also appear in the search engines results list.

So, if your blog have a lot of posts, then you will be able to get a lot of traffic from search engines.
